1) Overview

ZappTrip is a cab booking platform. When you use our site/app to search, book, or manage a trip, we process certain information to provide the service, keep it safe, and support you.

  • We collect what’s needed to create bookings, send updates, and handle payments/support.
  • We do not sell your personal data as a business model.
  • You can request access/deletion of your data as described below.

2) Data we collect

We collect data in three main ways:

A. You provide
  • Name, phone number, email
  • Pickup/drop details you enter
  • Messages you send to support
  • Preferences (when available)
B. We generate
  • Booking and trip details
  • Fare quotes and invoices
  • Service logs and timestamps
  • Risk & fraud signals (limited)
C. Device/usage
  • IP address and browser type
  • Pages visited and actions
  • Cookies (as needed)
We may also process approximate location if you share it (e.g., to improve pickup accuracy). You can choose not to share it.

3) How we use data

  • Provide the service: create bookings, assign drivers, show trip status, and send confirmations.
  • Payments and billing: process payments, generate receipts/invoices, handle disputes.
  • Support: respond to requests and resolve issues.
  • Safety and fraud prevention: detect abuse, protect accounts, enforce policies.
  • Improve the platform: fix bugs, measure performance, and improve user experience.
  • Legal compliance: meet tax, accounting, and lawful request obligations.

4) Sharing and disclosure

We share data only when needed to run ZappTrip:

  • Driver/partner providers: trip details needed to complete your booking (pickup, drop, contact).
  • Payment processors: payment processing and fraud checks.
  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, messaging/email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery.
  • Legal: if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud.
We require vendors to protect data and use it only for providing services to us.

5) Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods can vary by data type (for example, invoices may be kept longer for accounting).

6) Your choices

  • Access/updates: you can update certain details from your profile/account pages (where available).
  • Marketing preferences: you can opt out of promotional messages (where offered).
  • Cookies: your browser controls cookie settings; some cookies are necessary for login/security.
  • Data requests: contact us for access, correction, or deletion requests.

7) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously improve our protections.
